Lewis Hamilton was talking to the media after the qualifying performance in Belgium's Grand Prix race when he saw the terrible Formula 2 accident that took the life of the new French racer, Anthoine Hubert.
The 22-year-old suffered serious injuries and was later confirmed to have died as a result of a high-speed crash with Juan Manuel Correan. Hubert had died in the hospital while Correa was operated and in stable condition.
A formula pilot dies in a terrible accident in the race
Five times the world champion was watching the race directly, and at the moment of a serious crash, he also interrupted the interview.
“I hope that guy's fine. It was horrible”, he declared himself in front of reporters leaving immediately.
Mercedes, his team, then cancelled the conference because of the terrible accident. Many other Formula 1 racers were also speaking at the conference when the accident occurred on Saturday.
