A powerful 5.8-magnitude quake of the Richter scale and intensity over 7.5 on the surface has been recorded yesterday 30km north of Durres, near Cape Rhodes.

IGEUM says this is the strongest earthquake recorded in the last 2030 years. The shocks have been felt in Tirana, Gjirokastra, Pogradec, Fier, Debar and Shkodra.

Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu said that 58 citizens have received medical assistance to total Tirana and Durres.

52 citizens have received treatment at Trauma Hospital with earthquake injuries, among them a 9 - year - old child. There are currently 21 patients in the hospital.
