Luke spoke harshly against racism after being targeted Sunday, saying football was about the fight against discrimination.
Inter's Ultras have claimed in an extraordinary Facebook post that the assailant had misunderstood the fan culture in Italy and that it was a form of respect. They also said that they would probably direct the same direct abuse of the opposition in the future.
Sorry you said that what happened at the Calilar was racist. You have to understand that Italy is not like other countries in northern Europe where racism is a problem REAL.”
We understand that you can look racist, but it's not. In Italy we use some “form” just like “to help our teams” and try the oponent to get nervous, not racism.
Luke had called for stronger action against racism by the troops who ruled football. /Periscope
