Immediately after the frightening earthquake that rocked the country, the Interior Ministry and State Police call on citizens to call for free at 112 for any kind of need or assistance. But besides, what should you know about the earthquake? How should people act in such a situation?
What you should do during an earthquake:
Try to stay calm! If you're indoors, stay there, if you're out, stay out. A misconception has come up that running outside the building is a sure act, but moving during the time of the earthquake can result in fatal results. So you better crawl under hard furniture (for example, table), and stay there until the quake ends. Then run to a safer environment. If you are outside, stay away from the power lines, away from buildings, trees and things that may fall.
Do not use matches, candles, or other forms of fire.
If you are in the car, stop immediately and stay inside it until the earthquake stops.
Do not use elevators, since they are mostly blocked.
What you should do after the earthquake:
If you notice anything strange, close it immediately. If you smell gas, open your windows and doors and call the authorities.
Stay away from damaged buildings, away from windows and windows (because you can repeat the fluctuations).
Watch your chimneys!
Stay away from beach areas, as tectonic movements can cause long, heavy waves.
