Since 19 September at the Central Election Commission (KQZ), only two thousand ballot packages have been reached.
Although 11 days have passed since all fellow countrymen have begun voting, in the Central Election Commission (KQZ), only two thousand ballot packages have been reached.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has said of news.net, that these two thousand packages have reached September 27th, eight days after voting started through mail.
“According to the latest data, on September 27th, we have accepted from abroad 2,000 packages with alleged balloting”, indicated Elezi, who stressed that the paper from the diaspora will be accepted by the CEC only until October 5th -- that is, one day before holding elections in Kosovo.
Likea Elez, although two thousand packages have reached the CEC, the exact number of voters is still unknown, and from which countries have reached these ballot papers.
He has told of news.net, that at the end of the process everything will be known in detail.
At the end of this process, we will have a detailed report on all issues related to the voting process through post”, Elez said.
Asked where these packages are held and when the count of these ballot papers is made, Elez has said their count will take place at the Research and Results Centre (QNR), and that all boxes are kept in a separate room that is secured by Kosovo Police.
“The number of votes through mail takes place at the Counting and Results Centre, after election day and after all previous procedures are conducted. The package of supposed paper coming from outside Kosovo is stored in a separate and secure space. The room, which is in use of the CEC, is provided 24 hours by the Kosovo Republic Police”, Elezi told the news.net.
Unlike 35 thousand and 87 citizens from Kosovo living in the different states of the world, they have the right to vote for the 6 October elections.
It should be stressed that the post office vote was initiated on September 19th and will last until October 5th.
According to the Central Election Commission, there have been 40 thousand and 313 registration applications for early elections that have been accepted and prosecuted, but only 35 thousand and 87 apps have been approved since 5 thousand and 226 apps have been rejected due to the failure to meet legally defined criteria.
