Culture Ministry Hands Over Criminal Connoissement to Company From Serbia for Hurting Artana Castle

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Culture has handed over a criminal complaint at the Foundation Court in Gjilan to Srdjan Djordjevic, living in Artana (Novoburne) and against the company “KOTO” from Serbia, namely Belgrade, contracted for the realisation of works on the Artana Castle Revolution project.

According to the MKRS report, criminal speculation has reportedly been made against persons responsible for implementing the project.

The presumption has been made because there is a well-founded suspicion that the suspects committed the burden-based criminal act, where Srdjan Djordjevic acting on behalf of the company “Koto” in the quality of the Project for Revitation of the Artana Castle (Noovobarda) has carried out the criminal work <x3Dation, destruction and unauthorised extraction of monuments or protected objects outside the Republic of Kosovo<4>, while the company <x>Cho> holds the criminal responsibility for the work of the judiciary person. ”

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, through Gjilan's Constitutional Prosecution, has presented speculation against Srdjan Djordjevic with a residence in Artana (Novoburne) and against the company “KOTO” from Serbia, namely Belgrade, contracted for the realisation of works on the Artana Castle Revolution project.

Criminal harassment to those mentioned above has been made because there is a well-founded suspicion that suspects committed the burden-based criminal act, where Srdjan Djordjevic acting on behalf of the company “Coto” in the quality of the Project for Revitrisation of the Artana Castle (Novobarda) has committed criminal work “disillusionment, destruction and unauthorized extraction of monuments or protected objects outside the Republic of Kosovo<3x>, while the company <x4th>KOCOCOCOCOCH held criminal responsibility for the quality of the judicial person.

The criminal charge against the suspects is to argue that the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate after receiving an announcement of injuries to the Golden Castle on September 5, 2019, has come to the scene, where after meeting with the company's supervisor “Koto” (now the suspect) who is conducting the work on revving the Kale, it has calculated the damage that has been inflicted on the outer walls of Cala, as their deep cracks, and eventually there is also the danger of the overall collapse.

The move has been seen as a criminal offence under the law, and the MKRS has rightly initiated procedures before bringing the perpetrators of cultural heritage to justice in Kosovo.

Artana Castle Revolution Project financed by U NESTO and the winning company have been obliged to do the work under the supervision of Kosovo Institute for Protection of Monuments professional officials.

On September 2, 2019, ignoring his obligations to announce the overseer's body, which is also opposed to the Cultural Heritage Law, has committed an excavator and has begun to break down the surrounding walls of Cala.

With these actions that are contrary to the standards of conservative-restorative interventions in cultural heritage objects, it has caused significant damage to this asset of our cultural heritage.

As in the actions of the most described suspect, all elements of the criminal offence, destruction and unauthorised extraction of monuments or protected objects outside the Republic of Kosovo, such as the MKRS we have proposed to the State Prosecutor, to the suspect of freezing Aktakuza in the competent court with proposals to be condemned by law.
