A recent study has identified periods of the year when a couple are more likely to sign a divorce.
According to a study conducted by sociologists at the University of Washington, couples are more likely to sign divorce documents in March and August.
The theory was created after a long search for divorce requirements in the state of Washington between 2001 and 2017, when the number rose greatly in March and August.
The reason for the breakup? The two months come after a vacation period and unfulfilled expectations for a quality time together are driving forces towards divorce files.
At a news conference, Professor Julie Brines explained: “People tend to expect high expectations, despite the disappointments they may have had in past years. They represent certain periods of the year when there is a expectations or opportunity for a new start, a resumption, something different, a transition to a new period of life. It's an optimism cycle, in a way”.
And then from optimism it gets into pessimism. However, there are many others who can get into the cycle of optimism even after disappointments.
