Former American Ambassador for Kosovo Dialogue Serbia: Let's get away from the logic that someone will lose and somebody will win

Former American Ambassador to Serbia Cameron Manter thinks it is very important that Kosovo and Serbia leave the idea that one should be a loser, in order to be a winner, in order to find a solution to the Kosovo problem, broadcast news.

The resolution we reach will be the solution that all of them enter”, says Manter for Tanjug, adding that this is possible if there is confidence in people who seek solutions.

“In trying to reach a solution, we are not showing what someone is going to lose, who will be the loser and who will be the winner, we have to ask already what we can do, and this is what this region, the people of Kosovo, whether it's Serbian or Albanian”, Manter said.

Manter has added that topics that are important to daily life, such as economy, culture, education and exchange of students should also be in focus.

He says that if both sides expect Washington's support, they should focus on the future.

“It is necessary to have strategic vision, where Serbia, where Kosovo is, wants to go throughout the region. If the EU's goal is prosperity, good neighbourly co-operation, democracy, democratic processes, support is guaranteed”, he said.
