Wessel: Bedri Hamza's fight against corruption has resulted in 700m euros more for Kosovo

Wessel said that with the fight against corruption by Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, Kosovo has benefited for two years 700m euros more and have been invested in talented youth in innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as in many capital projects.

The fight against corruption, nepotism organized crime, is not only fair but also valid. We're only talking about what the finance minister said about what the effect of an unpolluted ministry and an unpolluted Customs director, 700m euros. It means 700m euros for two years for the Kosovo Republic budget, with which we have maintained macroeconomic stability. Even though capital investments have increased we have maintained the budget deficit, it is 17.1 per cent from Minister Bedri Hamza's arrival. We've raised wages and still have access to these 700m euros, which save you from abuse and abuse of extremely efficient work in particular from Customs, to increase our budget, to save the country from investing both in police and pensioners. Enhancing salaries in both the health and education sector and in most other sectors”, Veselin said.

Finance Minister Bedri Hamza said all reforms made and the fight against corruption in which sector, have had the instigation and support of President Wessel.

““If we look at the data and refer to statistics, it turns out that Kosovo's budget in relation to 2017, the execution part of 2017, and the current part of the year's planning, we have an increase of 700m euros, and this is done as a result of the extraordinary work of these ladies and gentlemen working in Customs. That's why this is an increase in formalities, is fighting negative phenomena, Customs is an extremely well-built institution and it's a model for other countries as well, and I'm sure that the support of institutions will continue and the positive successes of Customs will continue”, Hamza said.

Customs Director Bahri Berisha has also thanked Prime Minister Wessel for his continued support for Customs workers, both in the increase in wages and in strengthening anti-corruption legislation.

“We like Dogan announced Wessel's performance of Customs this year, whether in terms of revenues or in the act of combating transborder crime, the informal economy, but also the aspect of negative phenomena that are at the expense of financial interests or security in Kosovo.
