Men may be able to smell how fertile a woman is, suggests a recent study.
Scientists from the University of Cyril asked a group of males to list the body aromas of 28 women of a reproductive age. Women were previously tested for their level of major fertility hormones.
All men agreed that the most pleasant winds were from women with the highest estrogen levels. Estrogen regulates the menstrual cycle and causes the eggs to ripen in a girl's ovaries when it reaches puberty.
Since this hormone is a fertility beacon, the findings suggest that the body's ʹaromes are linked to the reproductive health, which men can sense through the wind, researchers said. Infertility affects about one in six women in the United Kingdom, statistics show.
And in the U.S., one in 10 women fights to get pregnant, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Infertility among women is usually caused by ovulation problems, such as a timeless egg
In men, weak - quality sperm - the fluid containing spermoids has often been the cause of infertility. However, about a quarter of couples who try to create a child but fail to succeed do not have a definite cause. Past studies have shown that the aromas produced by a woman's hormones can make her more attractive to the opposite sex.
However, if this is an indication of its fertility was unclear. To find out more, researchers asked men to appreciate the body winds of 28 healthy women. Women had previously been tested for their hormone level - estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, and cortisol. Estradioli is one of the four hormones “dominating” of the estrogen that develops naturally in women.
The progesterone holds the inside of the uterus in preparation for uniting a fertilized egg. If innovation does not occur, progesterone levels fall and a woman spills this mass within the womb during periods. Finally, the cortisol was seen, the stress sound”. This feeling is known to affect a woman's chances of conception.
The results revealed that all men said they were attractive to women who had high levels of estradioli.
Because estradioli and progesterone levels are signs of reproductive health and fertility, researchers suggest that body aromas are related to the reproductive health of women, which men can understand through the wind”, the authors write.
