October 6th will be the date when all Kosovo citizens are expected to address the ballot boxes to grant legitimacy to a new government in the country. So has the country's president Hashim Thaci, who on Monday shortly after decreeing the distribution of the 6th legislature of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly, also set the date for holding extraordinary elections. In the decision signed by Thaci, said that “based on constitutional and legal responsibilities, President Thaci has decided that early elections for the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo's Assembly will be held on October 6, 2019”.
Also through this decision, the CEC has been urged to begin organising elections. The Republic of Kosovo's Central Election Commission is directed to undertake all necessary actions for organising and maintaining elections for the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament, in line with this decision and legislation in force”, it is further said in that decision.
On the other hand, according to the first projections, 6m euros are expected to be the cost to Kosovo's budget and early parliamentary elections. Waiting for an advisory opinion by the Constitutional Court, the Finance Ministry has not yet made the division of budgetary means for the CEC.
