The company described the problem as a technical error and was in constant contact with the Federal Trade Commission.

The social network said the technical problem was on display in October 2018. Children who used the Messenger Kids app had been able to create group conversations with unauthorized people.

This mistake violated the company's biggest promise, which has been offered to give children a way to talk to their friends without being exposed to online foreigners.

Senators Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal said the company violated the Act for the Protection of Online Child Private, but Facebook doesn't think so.

Despite the fact that the problem has been present since October, in June alone it was discovered by Facebook and addressed on July 15th. The next scandal comes at a difficult time for Facebook that has been fined by American authorities with $5 billion.
