Mercedes admits that new cars have secret sensors for location

The renowned German luxury car manufacturer Merces-Benz has been placed in the centre of criticism, as his officials have acknowledged that cars are equipped with secret sensors for location finding. All new and used cars produced by Mercedes are equipped with sensors that can show [...]

All new and used cars that were produced by Mercedes are equipped with sensors that can show the location of the car at all times. In Britain alone, 170 thousand of this manufacturer's cars were sold last year.

However, company officials said that these sensors are activated only under extreme circumstances, such as when customers who pay their car in installments fail to pay time.

In addition, they acknowledged that data obtained from these secret devices is also provided for third parties, which have the right to confiscate cars in case of incompatible installments.

Some 80 percent of this company's cars are sold in installments, which is more than all other producers.

According to European Union laws on data protection, conveying the location of the car without the knowledge of drivers is illegal, writes “Daily Mail”, broadcast the Express.
