From Serbian parties' cabs do not indicate whether they will go alone or into pre-election coalitions, but former Serbian Prime Minister Slavisa Petkov warns a broad coalition of Serbian parties in early elections in Kosovo, expected to be held in late September or early October.
According to RTK2, the Serbian List has confirmed that it will participate in parliamentary elections, while its president, Goran Rakic, called for unity after a media conference in northern Mitrovica.
Even the Independent Serbian Liberal Party (SLS) is ready to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The SLS chairman Slobodan Petrovic has confirmed this, saying it is unclear whether they will compete alone or in any coalition.
In both variants, we have always received great support from our citizens, which I expect even in this election. Whether we compete alone or in a coalition with someone we will have formalisation in the coming period. We have the capacity for both options. In any case, if there are more political options on our list, they will have the obligation to fight for the interests of the Serb community, for a better and better life of our people”, Petrovic said, submits Telegrafi.
In the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kosovo, it will certainly participate in Nenad Rasqi's Democratic Progressive Party (DPS), which says it will give its maximum and adds that it is still unclear whether they will compete alone, or in coalition with any other subject.
We consider that the moment for participation is important because of all events and poor representation of Serbian political representatives. Because of all the circumstances that have brought us into the situation in which Serbs as a people in Kosovo live the worst in the last 20 years, because we have no good institutional representation, and that is the biggest problem. We'll participate in the elections with certainty because I know we can bring in qualities in the whole process. It is certain that there will be specific coalitions, whether of political parties, civic initiatives, independent individuals, formal and informal groups, but it is not clear how and when it will happen”, Rassic said.
Independent politician and former Minister of Return Slavisa Petkov says negotiations are under way for a broad coalition.
According to him, it will be announced Tuesday who will be in the coalition.
There will be approximately the skeleton of that coalition, which is quite broad. There will be political parties, civic initiatives and independent candidates. We don't do anything secret. Among others there is Nenad Rassic with his party, Rada Trajkovovic, with her movement, Dragisa Miriq with his party. More negotiations are under way with people from north”, Petkovic told RTK2.
“Alance for Kosovo” has yet to make the final decision on participation in early parliamentary elections. In an informal conversation, the co-ordinator of this alliance and the leader of the People's Party, Nenad Radosavljevic, said concrete information would be provided over the coming days.
