Kamenica residents worried about closing schools

It seems that even this beginning will not be without problems. There are days when the SBASK considers the problem of the reported closure of several schools in the municipality of Kamenica as disturbing and in response to strikes, even escalations. Kamenica Community head and village representatives insist on their positions. [...]
The protest against the Komuna decision to close schools on the first day of the new 2019 school year, 2020 in Central Karaces in the Kamenica municipality, has even warned residents of villages in which municipal school officials have been warned.
Local Community in Central Karaces, Selver Lenyan, has told “Zerin” that the protest will be held in the primary school yard “Salan Thaci”, starting from 0800 to 12:00. Saying that closing schools means opening prisons, he has asked the citizens of Kamenica municipality to join the protest, to challenge Kamenica's president's decision, Stand Kastrati. “With the decisions the mayor of the municipality stands Kastracti for the closure of 19 schools in the Kamenica municipality, at the same time among them is the primary school -- Aslan Thaciʹ, which bears witness name, has over 100 students. So among 19 schools is this school, but in the border belt, where it should be helped and invested he has made that decision. If this elementary school is closed the massive emptying”, he has said.
Lenjan has called on Kamenica's president to withdraw from his decision, until he has said that residents of this municipality will protect the schools and not allow them to close. This is the wrong decision and I ask him to withdraw from this harmful cause, from this mistake, not to close schools, that closing a school is the opening of a prison. Your Honor, step back from this cause. Don't close schools, because not even in the time of Alexander Rankovics could have closed or been in Milosevic's time. We're gonna stand there protecting our schools because we've been working on them. We will protest on September 2nd. I'll have all the citizens go to their high school places”, he said.
He has said further that even in the Serbian state, schools, which have two and three students, should not happen in Kosovo. “Today the school is closed, and it no longer opens. In the neighbouring state of Serbia, elementary school is with 25 students from the first grade in the eighth grade. Serbia has schools with two and three students, and we are not able to hold school with 100 students”, he added.
Officials from the Kamenica municipality through a media announcement days ago have indicated that by September the students in this municipality will no longer share class only with the teacher or with two other friends.
