The tropical storm called Crossan has hit Western Japan, forcing authorities to order evacuation of more than 400 people.
Hundreds of aircraft flights have been cancelled, as winds run up to 160 miles per hour. Japan's Meteorology Centre has projected more than a thousand millimeters of rain during the next 24 hours.
In view of the predictions of heavy rains and strong wind, we urge residents of affected areas not to go out of their homes and prepare for an immediate evacuation if necessary”, said Yoshihide Suga, chief of staff secretary.
