Kosovo's Police Inspectorate has accepted some information from the ombudsman about allegations of overcoming police authorisations, respectively, mistreatment by some police officials at the Police Station in Gjakova.
IPK investigators, after receiving information, have taken investigative action in consultation with the competent prosecutor, taking investigative action and securing various evidence that can help clarify the case.
After collecting information from investigators in consultation with the competent prosecutor, the Police Inspectorate has opened criminal cases concerning this case on suspicion of committing criminal work “Keraging during the exercise of official duty or public authorization”.
In line with the IPK law as part of the investigative procedure Kosovo Police Inspectorate has recommended today to the Kosovo Police suspended six police officials from the Gjakova Police Station, a major, a captain, a sergeant and three police officials until the end of this criminal investigation.
