In China, HermonOS will be called Hongmeng and thus silence all gossip and speculation.
The system has been constructed with skill in mind, as it can be used in telephones, watches, or even intelligent speakers.
To encourage adoption, HermonOS will be distributed as a platform with open resources worldwide.
According to reports, Huawei is planning to introduce HarmonyOS first to the intelligent-screen products later this year.
While installed in clothing in the next three years, Huawei did not mention which products fall in the category of intelligent screen products.
CEO Richard Yu said HarmonyOS is a completely different “from Android and iOS because of his ability to escalate into different types of equipment. You can develop your apps once, then put them with flexibility on a range of different devices,” he added.
While Huawei has repeatedly said he wants to continue using Android, the first device to start with HermonOS could be series Matthew 30, in case the ban is still in effect.
