Have you ever heard of “for the night parameter”? It's an unpleasant feeling that makes us feel powerless because we're fully aware but unable to move our body muscles.
It usually happens when you're in the classic REM phase, right after we sleep. There our body calms down and our mind becomes less conscious. When paralysis occurs, our mind remains conscious, while our body is in a state of involuntary relaxation.
And all of this is experienced by a person who is no longer able to master his body, experiencing a state of panic mixed with terror.
The most prone to this type of paralysis are those who suffer from mental disorders, such as depression and anxiety, or people who simply have health problems. These are factors that make people aware of this type of disorder:
Sleep problems or narcolepsy; lack of sleep; mental state, such as bipolar disorder or stress; substance abuse; frequent changes in time presented in sleep; some drugs, such as ADHD; sleeping on the back.
To avoid being affected by the famous sleep paralysis, contact a specialized doctor who will surely instruct you about it.
