Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Diana Sorensen, accompanied by Labour Inspectorate Chief Inspector Arben Seferi, conducted an inspection in the area of Shengjin.
The labour inspector in the hotel-touric sector alone has inspected 1,470 subjects, of which about 30%, so 495 subjects have resulted in problems, with informal employees. In the Lezha district and north in general there is a higher trend of informality, writes Koha Ditore.
“Today we are here in Stryn, just to inspect some of the hotels that operate during the tourist season. Understandably, informality itself has a slightly higher tendency during the summer season. It is very important to assess the fact that the Labour Inspectorate is in very close co-operation now with the Tax Administration, where in real time they are able to exchange continuous information and inform both sides. However, it is noted that business has begun to become conscious and has been cooperative. This is thanks to the approach the Inspectorate has had, where the goal is not criminalisation, but the awareness and security of all persons identified as informers to formalise. From July to today there are about 1,000 people who have been listed as informers and entered into the social and health insurance scheme”, Sorensen said.
