At the meeting the minister thanked the ambassador for his special contribution to the further deepening of bilateral reports between the Republic of Kosovo and the United Kingdom.
He named Ambassador O'Connell as the great friend of the Republic of Kosovo, who will all be missing.
The “meeting discussed the progress achieved in implementing the Kosovo Security Force General Transition Plan and the unreserved support it has provided and is providing the United Kingdom in the schooling and training of KSF members. With particular emphasis was discussed the success of our cadets during schooling in the United Kingdom and other countries. They have well represented the values the KSF cultivates as a professional, multiethnic and creditary force”, said the Defence Ministry communique.
Ambassador O'Connell thanked the minister for his overall co-operation and underlined that the KSF is one of Kosovo's post-war successes. He added that the KSF was built as an institution based on merit and professionalism. The ambassador also reaffirmed the United Kingdom's commitment to continue supporting the Ministry of Defence and KSF.
Minister Berisha once again expressed readiness for the KSF, even with current capacities, to contribute to maintaining peace and stability, as well as as as part of strategic partnership contingents such as the United Kingdom, to peacekeeping missions in the world.
