Avdullah Hoti, chairman of the LDK Parliamentary Group, has declared that today's opposition will rule with the country after the elections.
Asked whether LDK will issue the prime minister's post, Hoti says he will decide his party, but according to him, it should become a rule for the largest subject to lead the government.
“We have had productive co-operation with the VV during these two years in opposition in the Kosovo Assembly, which forms the basis for broader co-operation in the future in the government. Thanks to this co-operation, by creating a powerful and constructive opposition, we have managed to stop a significant number of harmful legislative initiatives for the state of Kosovo, above all the initiative for the unconstitutional law for dialogue”, Hoti said.
Hoti in an interview for Express said it is natural for the future government to be led by the opposition so far, because only thus can substantial changes be made in the model of governance.
“Anyway, any form of our co-governance with the VV will be considered and placed in the competent LDK bodies”.
“As far as the prime minister's position is concerned, we will seek the trust of Kosovo's citizens in this election to lead with Government. It must be accepted as a rule of conduct that the largest party leads with Government. We've seen the result of government leaving coalition. PAN, where the prime minister was from the fifth party in the Parliament, unable to advance any of his policies. There have been cases when the bills the government has brought to the Assembly for review and approval have been radically changed during reviews on parliamentary commissions that no longer reflected the will of the government”, Hoti said.
