The Court of Appeals has placed the Serb arrested for alleged war in custody.
This was made known through a media communique by the Court of Appeals.
The Special Department of the Court of Appeals has rejected him as unconfirmed on the basis of the defense attorney's complaint against the appointment of a month-long detention measure against defendants G. S”, said in communique
The Constitutional Court Act in Pristina, dated 22.07.2019, under which the measure will last until 19.08.2019, remains in force.
G.S. is suspected by the Special Prosecutor, that he has committed criminal work “War crimes against the civilian population” by Article 142 concerning Article 22 of the former Yugoslav Criminal Law, the act punishable even under legislation in force, and international conventions.
The Court of Appeals found that the act of detention, against the defendants, is just and legitimate, because there is a fundamental suspicion, that he has committed the criminal work he allegedly committed, there is already reason to believe that he could escape or flee, in order to avoid criminal procedure, influence evidence or witness, or commit any new criminal acts.
