85 thousand children with special needs, in Kosovo, attend instruction, reason lack of professionals

Such a large number of disabled children who follow learning is a disaster and social neglect, and as such, it continues to remain untreated and is dragging on as a priority issue. This is certainly largely influenced by social transformation awareness in the postwar period, difficulties in stabilising the educational system, and more careful planning of classrooms, teaching methods, individual work with students, level of teachers, their group organisation, and similar ones.

Psychologist Durmish also said that the world's countries are working on the application of methods for these children, until, according to her, this is not happening because of a lack of professionals.

Also, anywhere in the world is working intensively on the creation and application of specific methods and programs for these children, and the same ones know to be somewhat delayed in our society. That, therefore, is because of the inadequate disorganization of many elements, but also because of the small number of professionals and their cooperation, whose help would be very helpful in this regard” According to her, failure to learn from these children is followed by consequences because it suggests that they have multiple social influences.

Whatever the case, missing the instruction from children with special needs is conveyed to social and psychological challenges, of course, the consequences of which are highlighted over time and have multiple impacts on many social areas, in particular on children involved. Above all, it should be known that children with special needs, despite the limitations they face, have extraordinary and specific potential and should be carefully supported and fed, because they are an important part of society”, she said.

Etleva said, meanwhile, that not showing up violates their social integrity, slows down the processing of their skills, adds their emotional burden, sets up a pronounced barrier between parents and teachers, the responsibility of education and conveying knowledge, information and development completely falls on parents who may not be, not to possess all the resources needed to bear the same value in children.

This is because it is also the multiple social responsibility and is at the same time invested in activities designed only for these groups of children with special needs but not enough and do not meet their needs.

Otherwise, 250,000 people with special needs live in Kosovo. Here 10 percent of the general population in Kosovo is estimated to be of special needs.
