As incredible as it seems, women can get pregnant while they're pregnant.
It might look like a super-natural phenomenon, something you've only seen in science fiction, but it's true.
This rare shit condition is also called “supperfetion”, meaning the conception of a second fetus. As a result, a mother receives twins with different molds and sometimes two different birth dates, reports “Bright Side”.
In normal condition, when a woman becomes pregnant, her ovaries stop producing eggs because hormones have signaled her body to prepare for pregnancy. But when “supperfetion” takes place, the ovaries expand and release eggs, which can happen to be fertilized.
So far, more than 10 such cases are known, and the last has happened in Australia with a woman named Kate ? She became pregnant twice within 10 days. She bore two girls, who were considered twins even though their difference was 10 days old. Although they were born the same day, their weight and blood type were different.
This phenomenon can happen even in animals. Rats, kangaroos, cats, rabbits, and so on may become pregnant twice in the same period.
