The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has hosted Congresswoman Eliot Engel, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission at the American Congress today.
Thaci has expressed satisfaction before Congresswoman Engel and Ambassador Costnett for the inauguration of the new US Embassy building in Pristina, comparing July 4th moment 2019 with the opening of the American Office in Kosovo in 1996.
I am grateful for your personal commitment for decades, for Kosovo and the Albanian people in general. It's impressive when we remember where we were in '96 and when we see where we are today”, Thaci said and added that “for this we are grateful for the support of the United States of America, all of our friends, who have been supporting us all these years”
Congresswoman Engel said he is happy to be back in Kosovo, especially to be part of the July 4th note with the inauguration of the new US Embassy.
Engel, the presidency reports, has stressed the great progress Kosovo has made in the years since independence and has voiced its hope that the country will continue to progress on the road to prosperity, democracy and rule of law.
President Thaci invited Congresswoman Engel to commit to the US remaining focused on the Kosovo issue until the full conclusion of the story of Kosovo, with the country's full international consolidation.
