Young children consume plenty of sugar - about three times more than recommended by pediatricists and nutritionists. But consumption must be drastically prohibited to prevent the spread of metabolic pathology and more!
This has once again been brought to attention by the American Heart Association in its guidelines for the quantities of sugar consumed by children: there should be no sugar before the age of two, and a general amount of sugar should be equal to no more than six teaspoon (25 grams) a day when the child is between two and eight years of age.
A small break of rules can be done with no more than a soft drink a week, of course a smaller package. Experts who published instructions in the magazine Circulation point out that an American child consumes an average of three times as much as the recommended measure.
Beware of Added Sugars
In the overall count of consumed sugar daily, it is not only necessary to consider sugar added to beverages such as milk and tea; which also represents a large part of daily sugars. So you have to add all the other forms in which sugar enters the body: just think of the sugars that are found in ready-made foods like cookies, sweets and juices, but also in foods like hamburgers or industrial fries.
Prevention Better Than Treatment
Prepping early sugar consumption, the expert explains, is essential to preventing the spread of diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high pressure, and cholesterol that can be caused by the consumption of a sugar - rich diet.
