But how safe is the use of this app?

Using FaceApp circulates technological and data stories that most users do not know. On the other hand, the company says it uses artificial intelligence algorithms to make these transformations.

We've developed a new technology that enables real modification of your image into the picture. The element that separates us from others is photorealism. Once the filter is applied, it's your picture again. Other applications deliberately change the image in a funny way but it's no longer a real picture”, the founder and chairman of the Russian company Wireless Lab that stands behind the app, Yaroslav Goncharov for TechCrunch, records Telegrafi.

Saving Photos

You keep the right to your photos, but the company keeps a copy. FaceApp uses very complicated algorithms to edit photos that weren't installed on the phone when you install the app. Your photos should be loaded on a FaceAppi processing server, which means that a copy of your photo is sent to the company.

It's possible that FaceApp uses your photos that are related to other data, as many companies do online, but there's no indication that the threat of misuse here is high. You should always be careful not to load sensitive materials.

Concerns About Privacy

The app's privacy declaration is unclear, which is not a good sign, especially combined with the fact that it is not in an expert way shown to users that they are loading “selphie”. Private conditions show that the photo keeps data tracking it with “cookes”.

Some users have claimed that FaceApp automatically uploads all of your phone to the company servers, the first moment you use this app. Security experts, however, have cast doubt on this claim.

The part of the app dedicated to the use of information is said to include the content and information of users with companies associated with the FaceApp” society group.
