Local media, citing police, reported that a person had entered the studio of “kyot Animation Co” the morning of Thursday and threw an unidentified liquid into the building.
The suspect, who was not appointed, was arrested and sent to the hospital with injuries.
The fate of about 30 other people still remains unclear.
The fire broke out in the three-story building around 10:30.
Meanwhile, rescue operations are still under way.
