Infrastructure and Transport Minister Pal Lekaj says it is the responsibility of the ministry secretary to decide whether to suspend officials arrested days ago or not.
Minister Lekaj says he has asked the secretary to act in harmony with the laws in power to make quick decisions on the issue.
It's not in my domain to make decisions, it's the chief official who oversees the general administration, the Secretary of Ministry, and that day after he's made no decision, he'll make a decision to suspend all officials because they have domestic arrest until a court ruling... I talked yesterday and I believe he's made a decision, but I'm not officially notified yet”, says Lekay.
Meanwhile, according to sources, the arrest has been made due to suspicion that infrastructure ministry officials have helped interested persons equip themselves with driver's license in certain categories without testing, against a fee of between 400 and a thousand euros.
Minister Lekaj talking about the Parliament resolution and the petition of citizens with 10,000 signatures for the removal of the automotive counterpart's commitment, says that procedures for supplementing the Administrastration Guide and law enforcement will be initiated because Administrative Guide stems from the law for vehicles.
