Kosovo's most voted MP, Vjosa Osmani, has warned that a winning team will emerge from the LDK General Assembly. He said that individual fate matters little.
Osmani has given this stance a day after Ramush Haradinaj, who has been invited by the Special Court, has resigned.
It is important that on August 3rd, the LDK come up with a winning team that will take over not only the fate of the LDK but also the fate of Kosovo and turn hope to citizens”, Osmani has said.
The Democratic League of Kosovo has set the date for party elections on August 3rd. It is still not known who will compete to lead the party founded by Ibrahim Rugova.
Vjosa Osmani says individual fates matter, but the strengthening of the LDK.
The “Individuals and some other things under discussion are less important. Of course, I am in constant contact with membership and delegates and we intend to make LDK even stronger”, it added to Express.
Otherwise, the LDK after Ramush Haradinaj's resignation has come against a technical government. It has called for extraordinary elections, which are expected to be held in the autumn.
Meanwhile, Ramush Haradinaj resigned on Friday, two months without filling two years of AAK-built government, PDK, AKR NISMA.
Haradinaj resigned after he said he received an invitation from the Special Court, which was created to prosecute former KLA leaders suspected of committing war crimes.
Haradinaj has sought to go to extraordinary elections and return to decision-making to the people. The PDK has been baffled by this decision. Vetevendosje's LDK has called for extraordinary elections, as have Fatmir Limaj's NISMA PSD.
The president is expected over the next few days to call political parties to consult for two options: establishing a new Government or going to the polls.
Practically, there is only one option because no one has numbers to build the new government, as no one can account for even in the votes of the Republika Srpska List, which have abandoned the coalition for the past year when 100 per cent tax on Serbian products was imposed.
