The German defender of Albanian origin has become one of the least beloved players for Arsenal fans, due to some of his mistakes in the defence phase in recent years.
Mustafi's situation in “Emirates” is so uncertain that fans are whistling it every time he enters the playing field during the pre-sezonal tournament, as they did in Sunday's match against Lyon.
But only 24 hours after being abused by its fans, the World Cup winner has raised interest in French giant Monaco.
According to L'Equipe magazine, the Ligue 1 club has asked Arsenal for Mustaf and the Londonn club has demanded 30m euros for the quarterback.
However, Monaco aims to lower that figure even further, since the French are aware that Arsenal wants to sell the 27-year-old before the 2019/20 season begins.
When Mustaf became part of Arsenal in 2016, after being transferred from Valencia for 35 million pounds, he had initially been liked by fans. The “The Topchies” didn't lose any matches on the team, and fans were upset when he got hurt.
In time, though, he made some mistakes and severe interventions that Arsenal was severely punished, losing points.
If Monaco manages to transfer Mustaf during this passing summer term, coach Unai Emery will have to find a replacement.
Finally speculated about Daniele Rugan, but the club may not be interested in spending money to value a new protector, but to give the opportunity to young people such as Callum Chambers and Zech Medley.
