Through a media clarification, the Ministry of European Integration explains that lobbiery is the known and perfectly legitimate practice that states apply to advance and protect their interests in the world.
The Republic of Kosovo was no exception in this context. “Facing a serious lobby offensive from Serbia in all the world decision-making centres, with hundreds of millions of euros spent in lobby against Kosovo, this is the least that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo” can do, it says in the MIE clarification.
According to the Ministry, this American consulting company is not limited to the state of Kosovo but also to the countries of the European Union. This agreement has been and is completely transparent and legal. No single procedure has been violated. All its details are public and can be found on the official page of the Public Procurement Commission”, said in clarification.
“Sic can even be seen in the public contract, contracting parties in this agreement are only the European Integration Ministry and the company in question. We also want to stress that the legal basis of the Republic of Kosovo allows the principle of privacy in cases of contract binding on various issues of state interest. However, the fact that this contract is completely public proves that there is nothing to hide and that it is the most normal practice of any state”, says MIE clarification.
