The renowned Italian sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Milan is interested in finding out whether Real Madrid is willing to sell Croatian midfielder Luka Modric this summer.
Club management met with Modric's agent on Tuesday to discuss several other clients, but Real Madrid midfielder was mentioned during their talks.
The agent let the Redsman know that Real Madrid does not want to let the Croat leave, but may agree to do so to increase the budget for transfers this summer and to avoid spending on Modric's salary.
Modric is not the only Croat Milan has been interested in during the time of the end.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian defender of Liverpool, Dejan Lovrenni, is the first option for Milan, as young coach Marco Giampaolo wants to reinforce the defence department for next season, 2019/20.
However, the Italian newspaper warns that Liverpool wants at least 20m euros for Lovren, while 30-year-old is currently paid about fivem euros.
On the other hand, the Reds are willing to offer him only 12m euros for a four-year contract, or about fourm euros a year.
If they can get Lovren, Milan wants him to play alongside Alessio Romagnoli, for whom the Italians rejected a Manchester United offer during this passing summer term.
