German engineers have drawn up the first auto parking function without drivers.
A joint effort between Bosch and Daimler companies could eliminate the old parking problem very close to other vehicles.
Technology is based on infrastructure, which means all commands come from the parking garage, not by vehicle or pedestrians.
The Bosch sensors in the parking garage monitor the driving corridor and its surroundings, and provide the information needed to guide the vehicle.
Technology in the machine converts commands from infrastructure to moving maneuvers.
If infrastructure sensors detect an obstacle, vehicles stop immediately.
To use it, a person simply enters the parking garage, walks out, and takes his car to a parking lot with the help of the wise telephone.
After the driver has left the parking garage to go to his own business, the car drives itself into certain spaces and parks.
When the owner is ready to leave, they command the vehicle through the app.
Their car will start and run autonomously into an access station that's being discovered by the smart system in the garage.
