Residents of the <x0nd street muhare Fejza” in the capital have often raised their voice for lack of greenery and construction in the area, seeking greater attention from the Pristina municipality.
Recently, news of the construction of the new German Embassy in the hospital neighbourhood has disturbed residents, as they say, many trees will be cut down and green space destroyed.
Through an open letter, the resident of this neighborhood, Dren Sahini, has asked German Ambassador Christian Heldt to give up building the embassy in this area.
“
According to him, the space dedicated to the construction of the German Embassy's facility is full of pines, which are vitally important to air and environment.
That space is right next to the city hospital, right next to the pediatric ward. Think about how much the presence of those pines affects the healing of children”, writes other Sahin dishes.
He says residents of “Mati-1”, a section of the neighborhood “Bregu of the Sun”, as well as neighborhood “Ulpiana”, as recreative space we use the green field under the technical faculty located near the Ministry of Trade and Industry, or in front of the space that the Pristina municipality has divided for building the new facility for Germany's Embassy.
Road resident “Muarrem Fejza”, Dreni, says that this park would have to go first to the Pristina mayor and assemblyists, but, as he says, they are all political and have nothing to do with environmental issues and that for a photo with the German ambassador are able to donate anything.
A few days ago when the contract signing ceremony was held to exploit this real estate, Ambassador Heldt had declared that the embassy's new object would be an example of friendly and green urbanism.
Otherwise, building the new object of the German Embassy is scheduled to be built in the coming years without specifying any date.
