Thus has the chairman of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, declared during his speech in the Kosovo Assembly, where he said the Kosovar side, instead of using this fact to improve the position of Albanians there, has only demobiled the Valley, in promise to join Kosovo.
He said the municipality of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc are the most underdeveloped in Serbia, while the unemployment of Albanians in Serbia is the highest in the region, following the Roma population.
“Without radically changing the situation of Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc, it is not possible for Serbia to join the EU. Chapters 23 and 24, judiciary, fundamental rights and freedoms, security impose this. But instead of using these two chapters to improve the position of Albanians there, Pristina has demobilytized Presevo Valley, just to promise that they will soon join us without any additional strain... The discrimination, sub-representation, exploitation, oppression of Albanians there is unprecedented. Meanwhile, the promise that they will join us, with press conferences, has only demobilytized and unvised”, Kurti said.
According to him, there are four main steps that must be taken for Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
The <x0Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and also those of Albania should seek Albanian-language television in Presevo, the Albanian-language university in Bujanoc, Albanian investments in Medvedja, and the removal of Serbia's military base in Boroc, Bujanoc. In this way, with these demands, Albanians wherever they are, and not only the institutions of Kosovo and Albania, appear in offensive towards the state of Serbia”, he said.
