Serbia wants good relations with Bulgaria, based on friendship and dependent on high-level understanding, which is in the interest of both countries and two peoples. Just as we understand the problem of Bulgarian identity, the language and personality of Gotse Delchev (the hero for which Bulgarians and Macedonians claim to be theirs), we also expect understanding in terms of relations between Kosovo and Serbia” said Dacic, the Serbian news agency Tanjug reported.
It was the Bulgarian prime minister, who, when asked about the High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security High Representative's candidate, Josep Borrell, said among other things “... with all due respect, but if he is elected, Spain does not recognise Kosovo's independence, and he must maintain the position of the European Union and not the position of Spain”.
After that, Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, who had said “Boyko, had also reacted to me telling you that the European Union does not recognise Kosovo as an independent state. You, Boyko, should respect this fact, not teach Borrell”.
Dacic had made these statements during yesterday, the immediate one has been the reaction of Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, who had summoned the Serbian ambassador to Sofia for reporting to her ministry.
She had stated that “is not bad for Dacic to apologise for his” statements.
