Cakaj cancelled participation at Sarajevo summit, but Ilir Meta participates

Albania's president, Ilir Meta, will take part in a dinner held tonight in Sarajevo, under the Southeast European Co-operation Process Summit. On Tuesday, Meta will also attend the presidential summit at Jahorina, Meta's Free Councilman for [...] Radio Europe confirmed.
On Tuesday, Meta will also participate in the presidential summit at Jahorina, Meta's Free Councilman for the region and diaspora, Ambassador Flamur Gashi, confirmed for Radio Europe.
Earlier, Albania's Foreign Minister, Gent Cakaj, has said that Albania, in a sign of solidarity with Kosovo, has cancelled participation in the summit, mainly because of the organising relationship with Kosovo.
Gashi, however, said Meta has not cancelled his participation.
Cakaj did not attend today's meeting of foreign ministers, with which the two-day summit opened.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has said that despite “preparedness and will” to participate in the summit, he has decided not to go to Sarajevo, because, as he said in a post in Titter, “treatment and statements by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency are not in favour of good neighbourly relations and EU values and principles”.
Bosnia does not recognise Kosovo's independence.
