With Walker-Talkie, two people who have accepted an invitation can send and receive short audio messages.
But Apple said she's been informed of the problem where someone can hear through another person's iPhone without the last one's knowledge.
The company has disabled the function and apologised. Apple, however, brought down the chances that Walker-Talkey was used by someone in the real world.
Apple discovered a similar problem in FaceTime in January. In some cases callers could activate the microphone in another iPhone even if the receiver did not answer the call.
A few days ago another problem was discovered on the video chat platform Zoom. The hackers could access the web cameras without user knowledge.
At first it was said that the problem in question was low priority, even though it was quickly addressed.
