Women in Switzerland are preparing for a nationwide strike, in protest of the country's slow pace of gender equality, where they say it is unacceptable.
Friday's protest comes 28 years after the protest, which gathered half a million women taken on the street in 1991. Swiss women have campaigned long to accelerate the rate of gender equality.
They joined millions of other women in Europe after World War I ended in 1918 seeking the right to vote but did not receive it until 1971.
At the time of the 1991 strike, there were no women in the Swiss government, and there was no mandatory birth permit. After that protest and resistance women won some challenges.
