Newly elected mayors of northern Kosovo municipalities Goran Rakiq, Vucinina Jankoviq, Zoran Todiq and Srdjan Vulovic, will likely step back after the Paris Summit, which will be held on July 1st 2019, many Serbs think in northern Mitrovica, referring to the words of Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, who has recommended that the northern municipalities not be hasty until this meeting is over, organised by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanmann, writes the Mac0Z>
Stefan Samardzic, economist, says the newly elected mayors will act as President Vuciq tells Belgrade, respectively. “He (Vukiqi) at the meeting he has had with about 140 Kosovo Serbs told them not to rush in with resignations without knowing what will happen in Paris on July 1st, between Serbian and Albanian leaders, with the mediation of Merkel and Macroni.
But the situation could change after the intervention of Kosovo Police Special Units. Serbian leaders were in Belgrade when the Kosovo Police action took place and they came to Kosovo with grave words, even insulting to leaders in Pristina. They have certainly received any suggestions from Belgrade, from Vuciqi or even from Djuriqi on how to act. They have had to take the oath, but they haven't done it, and this gives to understand that they don't want to co-operate with Pristina, nor do they as mayor of the municipalities”, says Samardzic, adding that the president of the Serbian List is the one who maintains permanent ties with Belgrade and does nothing without saying Vuciqi.
