The Ministry of Health has hosted a press conference today, in which the findings of the Report of the National Auditing Office of 2018 were presented.
The report for 2018 on annual financial mirrors shows a thorough progress of the Ministry of Health in recent years, reports the statement, conveys news.
Of the 27 recommendations in 2017, the Ministry of Health has fulfilled most of them.
This has caused the ZKA to change its opinion on the Ministry of Health from a qualified opinion (lowest implementation century) to 2017, in an unmodified opinion in 2018.
Health Minister Uran Ismaili, during this media conference, said this improvement in the audience's opinion has come as a result of the good jobs that have been done and the successful fight against corruption.
The Health Ministry has shown a commitment and pro-active dynamics in implementing the recommendations provided. MSh has addressed this issue with the highest devotion, testifying that positive changes in the health sector are possible and sustainable”, Minister Ismaili said.
Of the ERKA's most serious findings for the Ministry of Health during 2017 was the purchase of drugs at abusive prices, the misuse of advances for official travel, mismanagement of capital projects, supply of non-real distribution drugs, etc.
The 2018 report shows an entirely different situation for the Ministry of Health.
“We have addressed priority abuse of unjustified advances for official years, stopped the purchase of drugs at abusive prices, and drafted administrative guidelines for fixing and unifying the price of medicines, saving millions of euros of state and citizens, we have begun the pharmaceutical transformation of over 100 new drugs at QKU to establish a literal drug-control chain to ensure that every bar goes to the patients of”, the minister said.
Minister Ismaili has thanked international partners for identifying and fighting corruption in state institutions.
For this we thank the US government and USAID for pushing and supporting our institutions against corruption!”, said Minister Ismaili.
USAID Director in Kosovo Lisa Magno has commended Minister Ismaili and the Health Ministry for major reforms in the health system and progress in handling the issues of the National Audition Office.
“U nAID is happy to stress the great progress the minister has made in Kosovo's health system. This minister has made great progress in addressing recommendations that have emerged from the report of the National Audition Office, which has called for a commitment, tenacity and a huge task”, said Lisa Magno, director of USAID in Kosovo.
The director of USAID, Lisa Magno, has also mentioned improving heart care and heart - care services in KKUK and investments in the purchase of medical equipment.
But I would like to highlight the greatest achievement this minister has made, which is Administrative Guide for the purchase of referenced medicines. This has broken several monopolies that have had to be broken and the prices of drugs have become more affordable for citizens”, Lisa Magno said.
Health Ministry Secretary-General Naim Bardiqi has said the ministry remains committed to addressing other recommendations released by the National Audition Office as well.
It was the identification of shortcomings in the past that raised our success. Regular co-ordination and communication between departments within our institution has also brought these results. I'm glad the big one-year job of the entire Health Ministry staff has been paid off, said Secretary Bardiqi.
