Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has recalled moments when he had made his decision as Britain's prime minister for his country to join Kosovo's intervention.
It through a message that has been distributed on the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change page encourages the people of Kosovo to continue to build the future for the sake of what it has been through.
In 1999, I decided as prime minister for Britain to join NATO forces to intervene in the conflict in Kosovo, prevent loss of life, protect human rights and ensure peace and stability in the region and all of Europe. The aid that UN peacekeepers offered with their presence in Kosovo enabled the return of refugees who had moved throughout the region, and an agreement was reached by the political spectrum”, Blair writes.
He writes away:
Progress requires difficult decisions for leadership. But you've done this before and you can do it again. I have a confidence that the Balkans will eventually overcome the challenges it has and will take its rightful place in the world. Reflecting on the lost generation, our definition is to ensure peace for future generations. For the people of Kosovo, I want to tell you: You've overcome many things, but you've recovered. Now you must build a lasting future for your people. A country within the European family. I am confident that this decision will be made in the future and will become a reality for Kosovo and its citizens”/Periscope/
