Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has declared that a maximum co-ordination of the European Union and the United States of America could result successfully in reaching the final agreement for mutual recognition.
Thaci made these comments in Tirana, where he has also decorated many personalities who have contributed to Kosovo's freedom and independence.
He said Kosovo's story is a story of full domestic and international success, as it has been recognised by 116 states and members in about 200 international organisations.
Kosovo's “State has its partners and supporters, has its friends, but there are also oppositions on Euro-atlantial travel, one thing is certain, Kosovo has its future in NATO in the European Union, it is walking slowly but and safely“, Thaci said.
However, asked for the Paris Summit, he said he appreciates the Franco-German initiative.
“Dialolog must develop unconditionally, should be held in equal stages as two independent and sovereign countries. I appreciate the Franco-German initiative at the same time I am extremely encouraged with the full support of the United States, so a maximum co-ordination of the European Union and the United States could result successfully in reaching the final agreement for mutual recognition”, he said.
Thaci has also been asked about developments in Albania.
“I am not here to give recognitions to domestic developments in Albania, I want Albania, the whole nation wants Albania stable, unique, respect for institutions, the Constitution, laws, democracy, pluralism, while it is left for people to assess the” developments, he said.
Thaci has also been asked about the statements of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who has named him Albania's attendant. For this, Thaci said that there are electoral campaigns in Albania, and therefore it is unmoral to be placed on these internal debates.
