Prepared for oral sex or the sense of soft skin are the main reasons why people remove hair from private areas.
A study of more than 4,000 men and women for the reasons for intimate care shows that 60 percent remove all hairs or parts of them.
Women, of whom eight out of ten have said they remove the hairs, also said they made him feel more feminine or because their sexual partner preferred him.
Men were far less likely to remove hair, but almost four out of ten of those who did it said it was more hygienic.
Scientists after the study said that the removal of privacy is becoming more common.
Researchers From the University KU Leuven in Flanders, Belgium, has surveyed a total of 4,422 Belgian persons over the age of 15.
