The success rate for women who perform fertilization treatment in vitro (IVF) has peaked at a success rate at one in four women, a new study has found.
According to the new research, those subject to IVF treatment have a 27.1 percent option for the procedure to result in pregnancy.
During the IVF procedure, an egg is taken from a woman's ovaries and fertilized with a sperm in the laboratory. The fertilized egg is then re-placed into the woman's womb.
The ICSI is the most common treatment used in cases of male infertility, HFEA says.
The new findings were presented at the annual meeting of the European Association of Human Reproduction and Embriology (ESHRE) in Vienna this week.
Researchers analyzed 800,000 cycles of IVF and IVF treatment CSI performed in 2016, which resulted in the birth of 165,000 babies.
The study presents the largest mirror in European assisted reproduction success rates.
