One of the things you need to do if you want a perfect, healthy body line is to get enough sleep. For most people that means 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.
If you try to get less sleep, which many people do, that will affect your mood and your body's ability to control your blood sugar levels, which can lead to overeating.
Why is that?
Dr Eleanor Scott said that when people are deprived of sleep, they often need sweet foods that can explain the desires for chocolate. Also, if you're awake when you're supposed to sleep, you produce more stress hormone cortisol, and that can affect your appetite and your glucose level.
Scott also noted that poor sleep prevents famine hormones, such as lbtin and ghrilin. These work together to manage appetite. Leptini reduces hunger, while the girbel promotes it.
When researchers at the University of Chicago recently monitored the levels of hunger hormones and appetite in a group of volunteers, they saw some dramatic results.
As part of this study, volunteers were asked to sleep only four hours of sleep a night for six nights, followed by six nights when they could sleep as much as they wanted.
Tests showed that when they were deprived of sleep, they had a lower level of lactin for 18 percent and 28 percent higher degrees of bead, which was reflected in the fact that they also reported feeling very, very hungry.
The message is, if you want your famine hormones to work for you rather than against you, you should give them priority in your sleep.
