In a conversation about “Mailonline”, Rita has once again talked about her recent visit to Kosovo, where she has said this trip was of great importance to her.
The meeting with children and families at my birth was very special and to see for myself the work that U does NICEF to support them has made me more committed than ever to using my position to support and campaign”.
My family left Kosovo because of the conflict in search of security and better opportunities for the future. Today, it is wonderful to see Kosovo in peace and children have better access to health and better education”, said Rita Ora, broadcast Koha.net.
The singer's emotional journey with meetings with these families will be documented in a film that will be shown in the “event Soccer Aid for Unicef” on ITV this Sunday.
Rita told of her encounter with a teenager whose father died as a child before her mother was diagnosed with cancer.
“Pata honours to visit 19-year-old Antigona, who lives in a rural area outside Pristina. Her father had died when she was very young, and then her mother was diagnosed with cancer, so she had to leave school to care for her brothers and sisters and thus did not have the opportunity to get an education”.
“Antigona married at 16, and now there are two girls who want to give them opportunities that he never had for himself”, Rita said.
The star, who is a charitable ambassador, will perform between two plays during the charity match “Soccer Aid for Unicef” and said the trip to her homeland was “incredible”.
“I've seen all the work of U NICEF and people like Nurse Chefsere who have done in Kosovo, the country where I come from, and that means a lot to me. Being there and seeing things with your own eyes is really incredible”, the singer said.
The rite of the past few days has begun its “Phoenix” tour through which it has thrilled crowds worldwide.
