Speaking at the Minor Rights Subcommittee of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, Mustafa has said that many rights violations are committed against the Albanian community in Serbia. He has stressed that Serbia is not adhering to the three agreements he had signed with political representatives of the Presevo Valley.
“The government of the Republic of Serbia is not living up to three agreements that it has signed with political representatives of the Presevo Valley in 2001, 2009 and 2013 with international presence, we hope the European integration process will motivate Serbia to meet all European standards in terms of individual and collective rights”, he has said.
In this case, he has voiced confidence that the Valley issue should be a topic at the negotiating table between Serbia and Kosovo, given that a host of Kosovo Valley Albanians' problems are part of the Kosovo-Serbia-x1> context. He has added that including the Presevo Valley in the closing agreement guarantees lasting peace among countries and peoples in the region.
However, being in fact the Albanian community excluded from dialogue with the Government of Serbia from 2013; and given that a host of Kosovo Valley Albanians' problems are an integral part of the Kosovo-Serbia context, we are deeply convinced that the Presevo Valley issue should be the subject addressed at the negotiating table for the possible closing agreement between Pristina and Belgrade. The inclusion of the Presevo Valley issue in the closing agreement is competition for lasting peace and for peace among people and among peoples in the region”, Mustafa has said.
